A Delaware business owner is facing mounting backlash after a video circulating online appeared to show her endorsing or encouraging violence against transgender people, triggering outrage from LGBTQ+ advocates and renewed concerns about escalating anti-trans extremism in local communities.
The video was brought to our attention by a friend who shared the post of the Delaware Anti-Violence Project and Sussex Pride on Facebook. Like in the post that we saw, we recommend you DO NOT watch the video.
The controversy centers around Anna Mae Minerals, a spiritual and crystal shop brand operated by Anna Mae, whose social media presence has increasingly drawn criticism from activists and community organizations over anti-trans rhetoric.
According to posts shared by the Delaware Anti-Violence Project and other LGBTQ+ advocates, clips from Anna Mae’s livestreams and videos have circulated widely in recent days, with critics alleging that the content goes beyond political disagreement and veers into open hostility and implied violence toward transgender people.
One widely shared warning post from the Delaware Anti-Violence Project described the videos as containing “anti-trans hate” and “threats of violence,” urging community members to remain aware of the rhetoric and its potential consequences.
Community concern intensified because the rhetoric is emerging during a period of escalating hostility toward transgender Americans nationwide. Across the United States, anti-trans misinformation campaigns have increasingly blurred the line between political activism and outright demonization, creating an atmosphere where violent rhetoric is becoming normalized.
That normalization matters.
For years, anti-LGBTQ+ extremists insisted that “it’s just debate.” But when influencers, business owners, or public personalities begin speaking about transgender people as threats, predators, or enemies deserving punishment, history shows that violence often follows close behind.
The concern is not theoretical. Transgender Americans — especially trans women — continue to face disproportionately high rates of harassment, assault, and homicide. LGBTQ+ advocates warn that repeated dehumanization online contributes directly to real-world danger.
Critics also note that social media algorithms reward outrage and radicalization. Videos framed around conspiracy theories, “gender ideology” panic, or calls to “protect children” frequently spread rapidly, especially in politically charged environments. Smaller local personalities can quickly gain attention by escalating rhetoric further and further, often with little moderation or accountability.
In Delaware, activists say the issue is especially alarming because the state has historically been viewed as comparatively safer for LGBTQ+ residents than many neighboring regions. The appearance of openly anti-trans rhetoric tied to local businesses is being viewed by some advocates as a warning sign that the national culture war is increasingly embedding itself into local communities.
The backlash online has been swift. Community members have called for accountability, boycotts, and increased awareness surrounding businesses and personalities amplifying anti-trans hostility. Others have urged local leaders to speak more forcefully against rhetoric that appears to encourage violence.

Meanwhile, LGBTQ+ organizations continue stressing a point that should not be controversial: transgender people are human beings, not political props.
Disagreement over policy is one thing. Publicly fantasizing about harm, endorsing violence, or treating marginalized people as disposable is something else entirely.
And increasingly, Americans are being forced to decide whether they will treat that escalation as “just politics” — or recognize it for what it is becoming.
